Debut album from John Norum, after leaving the band Europe. A good album from this norwegian and one of my favourite guitar players. It shows the talent, emotion and smooth sound from this man, a fine and exceptional musician. On vocals we have Göran Edman and John himself.

 

"In chase of the wind" is one example of his magic.

Thunder - Backstreet Symphony - 1990

Album debut de los britanicos de Thunder, un disco hard rock, con una interesante propuesta. Vale mencionar la voz de Danny Bowes, un sonido potente y de igual manera otorgando un toque delicado a cada  interpretación, calidad vocal que continua inalterable al pasar de los años, al apreciarlo en vivo, o en sus recientes trabajos.
Cuenta con la tremenda, golpeadora y potente balada, y a su vez de suaves pasajes; ¨Love walked in¨ , tema n°1, indispensable en mi tracklist para enfrentar el día. Buen disco.

DIO - LOCK UP THE WOLVES - 1990

Lanzado en 1990, es el quinto albúm de Dio, Craig Goldy deja la banda, y asume el puesto el guitarrista Rowan Robertson, por otra parte es el primer disco con el baterista Simon Wright, ex AC/DC, luego de la ida de Vinny Appice.

 

Es un trabajo que cuenta con pasajes densos y otros más ligeros a lo largo de su duración, eso si, si se es conocedor del trabajo de la banda, sabes que estás frente al sonido ¨Dio¨.

 

Potencia y peso para este disco, un buen trabajo sin duda, tiene su sello.

DIO - DREAM EVIL - 1987

¨Dream Evil¨ es el cuarto disco de estudio de la banda de heavy metal ¨Dio¨, liderada por el gran Ronnie. 

Hace su aparición en guitarra Craig Goldy, tras la partida de Vivian Campbell, y Claude Schnell en teclados. Ambos ex Rough Cutt.

 

Dream evil es un excelente disco, sigue manteniendo el estilo de la banda, a pesar de la partida de Campbell, y su gran trabajo en los discos anteriores, Craig Goldy cumple con el sonido de la banda. Ese sonido rápido, ligero y pesado a la vez, en guitaras con riffs enganchadores, y la marchante bateria de Appice, el acompañante bajo de Bain, mientras Dio con su voz se mueve entre ellos. Muy buen disco.

Banshee - Take em' by the storm - 1991

Tercera entrega de la banda estadounidense de Heavy/Power Metal ¨Banshee¨.

¨Take em' by the storm¨ es un disco con trabajo grandioso en cuanto a sus arreglos y sonido, ya caracteristico de sus anteriores trabajos. Mantienen un gran nivel. Buen disco.

Banshee - Race against time - 1989

Primer Lp y segundo trabajo de Banshee, luego de su ¨Cry in the night¨Ep. En éste album nuevamente encontramos una genial arreglo de guitarras y la maestría en la voz de Tommy Lee Flood.
Mención especial el tema ¨Missing you¨ un tema excelente, del tipo power ballad, está entre mis mejores diez, romántica y poderosa. Temazo. No me canso de escucharlo.

Banshee una banda que debio haber tenido el reconocimiento que merece, aunque aún estan tocando, pero sin la voz de Flood, lo cual por mi parte extraño.

Banshee - Cry in the night - 1986

First work from this awesome american heavy/power metal band.  A freakin' guitar' s arragement, a superb work on vocals.

These guys are great. This album only contains 5 songs, but worth it.

Including  a fantastic, really good song, called ¨The stranger¨, a kind of metal ballad. One of the best that i´ve ever heard.

Y&T - Earthshaker - 1981

Third album from Y&T, band formed in the west coast, California. A very good album no doubt, with freakin' and catchy riffs, pure hard rock/ heavy metal sound. Includes the gem ¨I believe in you¨ one of their greatest hits, just amazing. Highly recommended album.

Second release from Y&T, with a sound little different in comparison to their previous album, but a good work anyway.

Dokken - Tooth and nail - 1984

¨Tooth and nail¨ is the name of Dokken's second album. A good hard rock/heavymetal, a work much elaborated than their previous album. It shows the smooth and strong Don Dokken's voice and the George Lynch's style on guitar. Including the power ballad ¨Alone again¨ one of my favourites all time.

Dokken - Breaking the chains - 1983

The debut album from the american band Dokken. A hard rock sound with a soft and melodic touch, is the  very beginning of Dokken's sound as band.

AXEL RUDI PELL - BLACK MOON PYRAMID - 1996

The fifth album from the metal guitarist Axel Rudi Pell. Another great album from the german guitarist. Strong and blasting from the beginning to end. Good album.

Running Wild - Port Royal - 1988

"Port Royal" is the name of the fourth release from the german band Running Wild. A excellent work from these guys, a good heavy metal doze along the entire album. Includes the song " Conquistadores" a classic from the band and their "pirate metal".

DIO - SACRED HEART - 1985

"Sacred heart" is the Dio's third work, and the last album wich appears the successful original line up formed by Ronnie James Dio on vocals, Vivian Campbell on guitars, Jimmy Bain on bass, Claude Schnell on keyboards and Vinny Appice on drums.
